Hm...I think the title of this is misleading and it's what does it in for the picture. There is no unpublished book in the picture, nor hint of one. She's reading a book, a published one, in a library. The fact that she's broken the fourth wall without an expressed message to that breaking makes it look like a snapshot of a friend. When I think of unpublished books, I would think of a person contemplating that great American novel that just begs to be written...perhaps looking out a window, pen in hand, blank sheet of paper before them. Perhaps changing the fact that the fourth wall is broken as well as the title may help. If you wish to expose the part of her soul that enjoys getting lost in books, I might suggest surrounding her in piles and piles of books so she is both figuratively and literally buried in the written word.
